Bilt's 2027 Changes to Housing Rewards and Bilt Cash
Bilt's 2027 updates change housing rewards, annual credits, and Bilt Cash hotel limits. Eligible existing cardholders can retain 4% Bilt Cash earning.
Bilt's October 27, 2026 announcement changes card benefits, housing rewards, and Bilt Cash redemption rules. Eligible existing cardholders can retain Flexible 4% Bilt Cash earning by opting out before their 2027 account anniversary. On January 15, 2027, Daily Rewards replaces guaranteed housing points for non-cardholders, subject to partner-card exceptions.
Key takeaways
- 1
Accounts opened before January 1, 2027 can keep 4% Flexible Bilt Cash with Flexible active and an opt-out before the first 2027 anniversary.
- 2
Refreshed benefits remove the extra 4% Bilt Cash option. Housing points use the existing spending brackets, up to 1.25X.
- 3
Obsidian gets $100 annual Bilt Cash and Palladium gets $600. Hotel redemption limits mean these are not equivalent hotel credits.
- 4
Bilt Cash gets rolling expiration now. In January, hotel redemptions become twice yearly and Daily Rewards replaces guaranteed housing points for non-cardholders.

There is no single opt-out deadline. Bilt defines the anniversary using the billing cycle after your account opening anniversary. These rules cover Blue, Obsidian, and Palladium. Bilt's program FAQ
Flexible 4% earning requires an opt-out
Cardholders with accounts opened before January 1, 2027 can keep earning 4% Bilt Cash on eligible everyday spending by making Flexible Bilt Cash active and opting out before their individual 2027 anniversary. Accounts opened on or after January 1, 2027 start with refreshed benefits and cannot select Flexible 4% earning. That 4% is earned alongside ordinary purchase points. You can spend $3 of Bilt Cash to unlock 100 points on rent or mortgage payments, up to 1X on housing. Alternatively, Housing-only automatically awards housing points based on everyday card spending, without the extra 4% Bilt Cash.
The refreshed structure removes that 4% earning and uses the existing Housing-only brackets. It does not make every housing payment earn 1.25X.
| Everyday spending in the same billing cycle | Housing reward | Example with a $2,000 housing payment |
|---|---|---|
| Less than 25% of housing | 250 points | Less than $500 spent: 250 points |
| 25% to under 50% | 0.5X | $500 to under $1,000 spent: 1,000 points |
| 50% to under 75% | 0.75X | $1,000 to under $1,500 spent: 1,500 points |
| 75% to under 100% | 1X | $1,500 to under $2,000 spent: 2,000 points |
| 100% or more | 1.25X | At least $2,000 spent: 2,500 points |
Ordinary purchase points continue separately. Housing payments do not count as everyday spending. For a low spender, the 250-point floor is very different from earning 1X on the whole payment. Official card offer terms

Bilt Cash hotel redemptions drop to twice per year
Spending Bilt Cash on a hotel is separate from the legacy card hotel credits above. Through December 31, 2026, the Bilt Cash hotel limit is monthly. From January 1, 2027, it becomes two redemptions per calendar year, with a two-night minimum through the Bilt Travel Portal.
| Eligibility | Through December 31, 2026 | From January 1, 2027 |
|---|---|---|
| Blue or Silver loyalty status | Up to $50 Bilt Cash per month | Up to $50 each time, twice a year |
| Gold or Platinum loyalty status | Up to $100 Bilt Cash per month | Up to $100 each time, twice a year |
| Eligible refreshed Palladium | No special $200 allowance | Up to $200 each time, twice a year |
Loyalty status is not your card tier. The special Palladium allowance starts immediately for new 2027 accounts, or after an existing account's 2027 anniversary on refreshed benefits. Legacy Palladium holders use their loyalty-status limit. Opting out does not avoid the programwide frequency reduction. Two redemptions per year does not mean one must fall in each half. Opt-out deadline: your 2027 account anniversary
To keep Flexible Bilt Cash and applicable legacy credits, Flexible Bilt Cash must be active when you opt out in the app's card settings, before your individual 2027 anniversary. A switch from Housing-only takes effect at the start of the next billing cycle. After that anniversary, legacy accounts lose the ability to switch monthly between Flexible and Housing-only.
You can adopt refreshed benefits later, starting with your next billing cycle, but cannot switch back. An upgrade or downgrade also moves an opted-out account to refreshed benefits. Authorized users follow the primary cardholder's choice.
The January 1 bridge hotel credit expires unused when you transition at your anniversary. Separately, Palladium's existing $200 annual Bilt Cash moves from January 1 to the account anniversary, even if you opt out. Transition and opt-out details
Bilt Cash expires at month-end, 12 months after earning
Effective October 27, each award expires at the end of the month 12 months after it was earned, including existing Bilt Cash. For example, Bilt Cash earned in February 2026 expires February 28, 2027. This replaces the old calendar-year expiration and $100 rollover limit. Bilt automatically spends the earliest-expiring balance first.
Annual Bilt Cash awards and elite-point milestones
Refreshed Obsidian awards $100 Bilt Cash each year, Palladium $600, and Blue no annual Bilt Cash. Members can also earn $50 per 25,000 elite-qualifying points, which are points that count toward Bilt loyalty status. Eligible promotions and welcome bonuses may award additional Bilt Cash, but they are not recurring funding. An existing balance can still be spent before it expires, but it is not new earnings. Daily Rewards cash prizes are not guaranteed. Bilt Cash earning rules
Refreshed Obsidian and Palladium holders can also use Point Accelerator: redeem $200 Bilt Cash for an extra 1X on up to $5,000 of eligible everyday spending before year-end, up to five activations a year under its terms. Point Accelerator eligibility
Monthly benefits draw from the same Bilt Cash balance
Benefits funded with Bilt Cash draw from one shared balance. They require redemption and have their own eligibility rules, limits, and expiration dates. They are not additional automatic statement credits. Annual awards, milestone earnings, and eligible promotions can fund whichever available benefits you actually use, regardless of whether you use Flexible mode.
For example, redeeming $10 each month for Lyft and $10 for Grubhub uses $240 Bilt Cash over a year. Those redemptions reduce what is left for hotels, Point Accelerator, or other eligible benefits. Current Bilt Cash redemption terms
Daily Rewards replaces housing points for non-cardholders
Starting January 15, 2027, members without a Bilt Card lose guaranteed housing points in favor of chance-based Daily Rewards. Housing benefits from eligible partner cards remain. Bilt cardholders keep housing points and gain Daily Rewards alongside them.
An eligible neighborhood purchase of at least $5 can earn one neighborhood reward daily. An eligible on-time housing payment can add another reward that day, limited to once per eligible 25-day period. Rewards have a 30-day reveal deadline and a choice of two options. Four collectibles complete a set, and collection progress resets at year-end.
Bilt says full prize terms and a no-purchase mail-in method will be available by launch. Published jackpot amounts are not guaranteed earnings, and announced information does not establish odds or an expected return. Daily Rewards FAQ, launch details
