We will credit one bonus (the “Checking Bonus”) to a new Business Essential Checking, Business Plus Checking, or Business Premium Checking account opened between July 1, 2026 and September 30, 2026, if the Average Ledger Balance in the account is at least $5,000 in the third full calendar month after the account was opened.
The Checking Bonus amount awarded will correspond to the highest Average Ledger Balance maintained in the account in that third full calendar month after account opening: $300 for Average Ledger Balances between $5,000–$14,999.99; $500 for Average Ledger Balances between $15,000–$29,999.99; $750 for Average Ledger Balances between $30,000–$99,999.99; $1,500 for Average Ledger Balances of $100,000 or more.

If the requirements are met and the Account remains open, the Checking Bonus will be credited to the Account at the end of the fourth month after the Account was opened.
The Checking Bonus is not available to employees of M&T Bank or any of its affiliates or to clients who have had a non-personal M&T checking account within the previous 90 days of opening the Business Checking account.
Only one Checking Bonus will be awarded per TIN regardless of the number of new M&T Business Checking accounts opened.
A $50 Account Closure Fee applies if the account is closed within the time period referenced in the Commercial Deposit Account Fee Schedule.
If the account that receives the Checking Bonus is closed by the client or M&T Bank within six months after its opening, the Checking Bonus will be deducted at closing.
An account closure fee also applies if the account is closed within 180 days of opening (see the Commercial Deposit Account Fee Schedule for details).

The monthly account maintenance fee on a Business Essential Checking is $5.
There are two ways to waive the monthly account maintenance fee : a) the Average Ledger Balance is $1000.00 or more that month; b) or the purchases and payments* made from the Account with the linked Visa® debit card(s) total $300.00 or more (transactions must be settled during the Analysis Period, and withdrawals are not included).
The monthly account maintenance fee on a Business Plus Checking Account is $15 unless either: a) The Average Ledger Balance is $7,500.00 or more; b) one or more M&T merchant services deposits are made during the statement cycle; c) $500 or more in purchases are made on a linked M&T Business Credit Card; d) 30 or more purchases are made with an M&T Visa® Debit Card (transactions must be settled during the Analysis Period, and withdrawals are not included).
The monthly account maintenance fee on an Premium Checking for Business Account is $25 unless either: a.) the Average Ledger Balance is $10,000 or more that month b.) the sum of the Average Ledger Balances of the Account and any linked Commercial Savings Account is $25,000.00 or more or c.) there is 1 or more deposit of M&T Merchant Services proceeds into the account that month or d.) the purchases and payments made on the linked M&T Business Credit Card or M&T Business Rewards Credit Card totaled $2,000.00 or more in the credit card statement cycle ending in that month.
